The Dog Spa Derby

The spa is based in Oakwood, Derby at our family home. You will find it nestled in our garden as you enter through the gate. Our doors proudly opened in May 2020.

The logo is made up of our spaniel Pippa and my mum’s Cavachon Ruby…Alfonso wasn’t on the scene then. Ruby really inspired me to discover the grooming world as we got Ruby when I still lived at home with my mum and we realised just how important it is to keep on top of grooming, especially with a woolly coat like Ruby’s.

All of your details are safely stored in compliance with GDPR guidelines. You will also receive appointment reminders via text and email.

Electronic notes are written and recorded for each appointment to log your dog’s health, grooming style, abnormalities or significant events. Any changes are always noted and reviewed at each appointment. I have transferred this skill from my dental nursing career when I had to write medical notes, old habits die hard, but you can trust that the notes will be very detailed.

The best service and tools

I am a one to one groomer but happy to welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Occasionally there can be a cross over with clients collecting and arriving so your dog may have to go in the snug/large luxury dog crate for their own safety. Dogs from different households will not be mixed.

The best products from The Pawdinary range are used in the spa to help nourish your dog’s skin and coat. We also use the Hydro bath pro which deeply cleanses and massages as it works.

The equipment is state of the art with an electric grooming table, industrial strength blaster and professional stand dryer. We also have an air conditioning unit installed to keep your dogs cool in the summer and cosy in the winter.

All of the scissors and blades are cleaned, maintained and sharpened on a regular basis to ensure precision at every groom. 

Before becoming a dog groomer I worked as a dental nurse which has definitely taught me some life long skills, which have been helpful in the running of my business.
